Course Overview

This is your opportunity to experience the day in the life of a butcher.

Spend the day within our state-of-the-art butchery facilities at Plumpton college immersed in the craft of butchery. You will be able to learn the basics of butchery from our expert butchery lecturers and get hands on with an array of butchery equipment. Whether you work in the food industry already, are passionate about food, or simply want to try something new alongside likeminded individuals, this is your chance to have a fantastic day out and gain some essential butchery skills. 

Skills covered on this workshop:

· Cutting techniques

· Knife sharpening

· The butchers knot

· Portion control

· Preparation and cooking of meat products

Entry Requirements

Who is a one day workshop suitable for?

A One Day workshop is an experiential day for individuals with limited to no knowledge of the area being covered.  It is a fun social unaccredited course that could be suitable to be given as a gift or to join in order to meet likeminded people. There are no entry requirements for this course.

Course Cost

£75 for the day.

Course Fees

Students aged 24+ who are studying a second Level 3 course or aged 24+ who are studying their first Level 3 course will have to pay tuition fees, depending on the course.

Students on low income who can prove they earn less than £25,000 (from September 2024); are unemployed; or receive state benefits could be entitled to a tuition fee waiver.
