Course Overview
COURSE OVERVIEW
We are delighted to offer a FREE programme to those who wish to join our horticulture volunteer programme. Before joining, we ask you complete the course to give you a full induction to One Garden Brighton. The course includes:
- City & Guilds Level 1 Qualification: Practical Horticulture Skills
- An introduction to Retail Knowledge award: Plumpton College
- An introduction to Customer Service award: Plumpton College
The City & Guilds Level 1 award in Practical Horticulture Skills focuses on providing a solid foundation for developing essential horticultural knowledge and skills. These not only offer opportunities for employment, but provide the foundation for further skills development at levels 2 and 3. The course is free and you do not need previous horticultural experience toapply.
COURSE CONTENT
Varied horticultural practices on the One Garden Brighton site:
- Assist with planting and establishing plants
- General upkeep of the public areas
- Production skills to produce plants for sale
- Award in Retail - Knowledge of plants in the garden for sale
- Award in Customer Service - Training on how to engage with our visitors
Entry Requirements
None. If you have already gained a horticultural qualification previously, this award is not compulsory.
