Description
We run a smallholding with 16 alpacas, 6 hens and flowers and are looking for someone to part time during mornings to help with general tasks to maintain the health and wellbeing of the alpacas. This will include, feeding and husbandry each morning. Another daily task is to remove the alpaca poo from the field (this is done to ensure good alpaca health). Regular tasks will also include cleaning the field shelters, checking all hay feeders and water troughs. We also have bags of fleece from which needs skirting. The Alpaca Assistant role will involve organising the bags, skirting and sorting. The 2 yearlings are being halter trained so assistance will be required taking them and other alpacas for short walks to school them. The person will also be asked to help with any other general jobs to do with the alpacas and other smallholding tasks as they occur.
