Description
Kodo Gardens is primarily a garden maintenance company working in London and Brighton. Our aim is to develop and maintain top quality gardens by training highly skilled gardeners in both technique and horticultural knowledge.
This is a part-time role currently 2 to 3 days a week. The majority of the work is in London currently with a scope to take on more work in the Brighton, Hove and Sussex area.
Job role
The ideal person must:
Have a great work ethic and positive spirit!
Enthusiasm for plants and nature is essential.
Some sort of practical or horticultural training would be ideal to provide a backbone of knowledge for the work that is needed for the job.
Physical fitness is vital, however we are not looking for pure strength to carry and lift as this is not a labour job, but looking for an individual who has a keen eye for detail, somebody who is careful and considerate and has a thirst for knowledge.
All of our work is outside enduring all types of weather, including rain, wind, snow, sun and heat and cold. The successful candidate will need to work happily in all weather conditions and dress appropriately. After the initial trial and probation period, branded t-shirts and hoodies will be provided.
Have an eagerness to learn as much as possible about plants and develop their gardening skills.
Driving license would be good but not required.
Have good time keeping.
What will be involved:
Initially
Weeding
Helping to tidy and clean green waste.
Mowing
Basic pruning.
Loading and unloading tools and green waste
With more experience
Use of the strimmmer.
More detailed pruning as well as using hedge trimmers
Work on ladders.
Pay would start at £12-15 per hour. Travel time/expenses to be discussed on successful application. This employment will be on a self employed contract and will require the person to look after their own accounts.
