Vine Care UK has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic, committed and hard-working vineyard manager.

 

Vine Care UK operates in the South of England, providing labour and management services to vineyards and our small team pride themselves on providing only the best quality of service and advice available.

As well as providing labour-only work to some vineyards, Vine Care UK also offer full management packages, which require regular visits, followed by a written report and follow-up advice. The successful candidate will build a relationship & rapport with various clients through regular visits.

In addition, Vine Care UK works very closely with its two sister companies – The Vineyard Store (vineyard materials and supplies) and The Grape Exchange (trading of fruit and bulk wine).

 

Main Responsibilities:

· Providing accurate and practical advice to our customers

· On site tractor operations

· Manage/Conduct effective maintenance protocols for vineyard vehicles and equipment

· Working with and supervising our teams in the field

· Data collection and recording

· Assisting with the logistical planning of personnel and kit

· Adherence and compliance with all relevant health and safety protocols.

· Ability to work extended hours at certain times of the year e.g. harvest

 

Must have:

· At least 3 years experience working in a cool climate vineyard or a degree in viticulture

· Ability to identify disease, deficiency and pests and report accordingly

· Experience and competence in tractor driving and use of machinery

· Spraying qualifications (PA1, PA2 & PA3)

· Able to lift up to 25kgs regularly

· A full, clean UK driving license and experience towing 3.5t trailers

· Impeccable punctuality, organisational, record keeping and presentation skills

· Able to change and adapt priorities at short notice

· The right to work and reside in the UK

· Have a strong command of written and spoken English

· Have a sound knowledge of various computer applications, including Word and Excel

 

Desirable:

· Fork-lift operating licence

· WSET qualification (minimum L2)

· Tractor driving qualification (e.g. LANTRA)

· Sound mechanical knowledge of tractors and machinery

 

Further training can be provided on the job.
