Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding
We have a friendly and experienced team of full time staff in non-teaching roles ready to support and safeguard our students.
Students, parents and guardians can self-refer via studentwellbeing@plumpton.ac.uk or by messaging the wellbeing WhatsApp 07387 411834, or they can ask their tutor or coach to refer them.
The team will then consider the students individual situation and create a support plan for them. The plan could include one or some of the following options:
- Safeguarding advice and interventions
- Wellbeing check ins or 1:1s
- Wellbeing WhatsApp
- Counselling by As You Are counselling (person centred counselling, up to 12 sessions)
- Resources (SharePoint)
- Awareness campaigns
- Health Assured 24-hour student helpline (free to all Plumpton students)
- Wisdom, Mental health app (free to all Plumpton students)
- Otis the wellbeing dog (leading walks, exam anxiety, classroom visits and 1:1s)
- Action Your Potential membership (working with families around specific issues like anxiety or anger management)
- Anna Freud/mind Early Intervention programme (low level emotional wellbeing mentoring sessions)
- WELLFEST and other mental health enrichment activities
