APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRINCIPAL
00:00 - 00:00
The Governors of Plumpton College are pleased to announce that they have appointed Jeremy Kerswell as the new Principal at the College.
He will be replacing Des Lambert OBE, FRAgS, who is retiring after over 40 years at the College, including 15 years as Principal.
Jeremy will take up his post on 5th October and there will be a short handover period.
Stan Stanier, Chair of the Governing Body, commented, “Jeremy has an excellent grounding for this job. He is currently the Head of Cannington College, a successful land-based college in Somerset, and has previously worked at other land-based colleges, including Brinsbury and Hadlow. He has a Sussex background, having attended both The Forest School and The College of Richard Collyer in West Sussex before taking a degree in Animal Science at Reading University.”
Jeremy Kerswell commented, “I am delighted to be returning to Sussex. Plumpton College has an excellent reputation among the rural communities it serves in Sussex and further afield and amongst its many partners. That is a tribute to the dedication of the staff and to the wise and steady leadership Des has provided. I am proud to be following in his footsteps. There are many economic challenges ahead, but the College is financially strong, and I am keen that it continues to grow and develop in response to the evolving skills needs of the land-based sector.”
