College invites local employers for National Careers Week
00:00 - 00:00
National Careers Week celebrates career guidance in education across the UK to help support young people leaving education. With this in mind, the Careers Team at Plumpton College held a Careers Fair last week, inviting over 50 local employers for Equine Management and Animal Management students.
We welcomed employers such as Cats Protection, Knockhatch Adventure Park, Cliffe Veterinary Clinic, Home Office Border Force, Sussex Police Dog Handlers to local businesses such as Longhalves Stud, Blackberry Farm and Nick Gifford Racing.
It was an excellent experience for students to engage with local employers and see the careers they could go into after finishing with Plumpton College.
Students were able to ask questions on careers and network with employers. The Careers Fair also showcased internal progression to our degree courses in Veterinary Nursing and Physiotherapy, Equine Management and Animal Management.
"I enjoyed having so many different types of jobs to look at and ask about - gave me a better understanding of what jobs might be available."
"I learnt how to apply for my dream job."
"I spoke to people about careers, and I have work experience now."
"I didn't realise how many options there are for jobs in equine."
