Event launch of training kitchens in the AgriFood Centre with Table Talk Foundation and Adopt A School
00:00 - 00:00
We were delighted to welcome Table Talk Foundation and Royal Academy of Culinary Arts' Adopt a School to the new AgriFood Centre, where they launched their involvement in the new training kitchen located in the centre, to their supporters.
Table Talk Foundation raise funds to provide food education for children in Sussex and support local hospitality who generously fundraised for the training kitchens alongside Royal Academy of Culinary Arts' Adopt a School, who's vision is for every child to learn about food in a holistic sense and has the confidence to eat well, be healthy and happy.
The guests enjoyed a tour of our winery, campus farm and butchery processing centre, including the AgriFood Centre. They enjoyed homemade baked goods by Anthony Gaston, Head of Bakery and sparkling wine made by one of our alumni.
Jeremy Kerswell, principal at Plumpton College, who spoke to guests at the launch event this week, commented: "We've been very successful in developing our butchery and bakery courses over the last couple of years, and the opening of the training kitchen will allow us to develop these further as well as provide our college students with food preparation and nutrition programmes".
The Table Talk Foundation and Adopt A School will use the training kitchen two days a week to provide a training space for schools in the local area and have kicked off the initiative by offering five primary schools a pilot session. Children will be able to explore the farm, see where their food comes from, and cook in the fantastic facilities before sitting down to share a meal together.
