Plumpton Floristry students scoop 1st and 2nd place!
00:00 - 00:00
In the early hours of Wednesday 6 November this year, over 500 floristry students from over 20 colleges gathered at New Covent Garden Flower Market for the annual Flower Market College Day.
This invitation-only event involved Level 2 floristry students enjoying a Flower Market Taster Day of talks, tours, quizzes packed with information about the workings of the UK's largest wholesale Flower Market.
Meanwhile, Level 3 and Level 4 students took part in the team competition to source, design and create a floral piece to a commercial brief and a tight budget, against 22 National Colleges. The College Day competition takes the students around the Flower Market, learning to buy from Market wholesalers and taking full advantage of the Market's unrivalled wealth of seasonal cut flowers and foliage.
Plumpton Floristry students on the Higher Diploma scooped 1st place and the Level 3 Diploma group gained second place, just missing the top place by one point!
