Show Report: Heathfield Show
6 June 2018 17:02 - 17:02
It was a busy day for Plumpton College at the Heathfield Show this year, held on a particularly sunny Saturday over the May bank holiday.
Plumpton College hosted the Education Marquee with the Young Farmers Club, highlighting careers within agriculture and the land-based sector with displays focusing on British Wool, dairy products including cheese making and smoothie making activities and a display from the countryside and environment department including 10 day old pheasant chicks.
The Forestry & Arboriculture Team were also featured in the countryways area of the showground and the Agriculture Show Team entered into the sheep and beef competitions.
Level 2 Agriculture students Chelsea Smith, Nicola Stewart and Sam Wright were part of the show team, working hard to get their cattle ready for the ring this year. All the students won top prizes in their categories with Chelsea going on to win the young high achievers award. Student Jenny Power will join the team for the South of England Show.
