Carol Aghajanian, a Plumpton College HE student who, as part of her Animal Science degree studied a management module entitled Entrepreneurship, has received the award of top student in Management Studies, presented at the College awards ceremony by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) .
The management module focusses on helping students who want to create their own business and helps students to adopt the attributes of an Entrepreneur. It covers the main business subjects needed to successfully start and develop a micro business, concentrating on effective marketing strategies and planning and managing the financial aspects of a business, plus innovation, problem solving, business passion and perseverance which amongst others are important entrepreneurial attributes.
Carol has taken the module even further and invented an innovative and unique product.
The module assignment consisted of a developing a business plan for a concept which she used to develop her business product idea. Carol has taken the idea to patent, where it is currently being modelled for marketing and manufacturing purposes, with the consideration of it receiving Intellectual Property Rights at international level.
