Student Testimonial - Canine Behaviour
00:00 - 00:00
Plumpton College proudly offers a wide variety of Dog Grooming & Behaviour courses for those looking to either enter the industry as a profession or upskill themselves to become more aware of their dogs needs and actions. A previous student on our Level 3 Canine Behaviour course, now known as the Advanced Certificate in Canine Behaviour, and had this to say about her experience:
I had originally decided to apply for the Level 3 Canine Behaviour Course so that I could learn more about my dog.
Michelle was a brilliant tutor and taught me far more than just how to interact with my own dog. I learnt everything from the development of puppies, dog communication, the way dogs learn, through to specific behaviour issues - including topics like separation anxiety and resource guarding.
The notes provided by Michelle were detailed yet easy to understand and her clear teaching style made even the more complex subjects easy to follow. The course isn't just theory either, most weeks we had a "demo dog" and there are practical sessions, so you learn how to put your theory into practice. Michelle was always available for support and provided detailed feedback on assignments.
Over the duration of the year, whilst completing the Course, my own dog's behaviour improved dramatically, I was clearer in my training and gaining a Distinction has inspired me to go on to learn more.
I now volunteer at a local rescue centre with dogs, I have completed numerous intensive practical training courses and am currently studying a Level 5 Canine Behaviour with the intention to complete a Masters in the future. Without the Essentially Paws Level 3 Course, none of this would have been possible. I have gained far far more than just learning more about my pet dog!
I would recommend this Course to anyone with a pet dog (my relationship with my dog is now incredible). The Level 3 is also an amazing foundation for a career with dogs in any capacity.
Rachel is one of many students who have truly benefitted from the course here at Plumpton.
Do you want to learn more about your dog, or know someone else who does? Come along to our next Open Morning on Saturday 11th January to meet the tutors and discuss your potential next steps!
