Vet nursing trip to South Africa
00:00 - 00:00
In March a Veterinary Nursing group consisting of two lecturers, three qualified Vet Nurses from practice and 11 Vet Nurse students left for a two week trip to South Africa.
The group were based just outside Grahamstown about an hour and a half from Port Elizabeth.
The trip included studying veterinary nursing aspects, assisting the SPCA in the local township with care for the local dogs (worming, vaccination and dipping) as well as helping in the centre itself with some of the animals being looked after. The group also participated in game drives trying to spot the ‘big five. The trip was a great success and one which we hope to repeat in the coming years.
