Plumpton College is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional learning support to students with diverse needs. Your Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Work with individual students or small groups, supporting them with their academic journey.
- Develop learning plans tailored to student needs, ensuring they understand their tasks and objectives.
- Foster independent learning while offering the support needed for students to succeed academically and socially.
- Collaborate with teachers to contribute to lesson planning and ensure that learning materials are accessible and effective.
- Assist students with reading, writing, and exam preparations, ensuring equal opportunities for success.
- Be an advocate for students, ensuring their voices are heard and their well-being is a priority.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with young people who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviours.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, along with solid IT skills.
- A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy.
- Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- A passion for supporting students to reach their full potential.
Desirable:
- A qualification in Learning Support or a related field.
- Experience in welfare, pastoral care, or safeguarding.
