Description

Lambert Farm is part of the wider Plumpton College Estate where we have a range of different enterprises, including an award-winning pig unit. The unit was opened two years ago with significant investment in new technologies to promote sow and piglet health and performance. Currently we have 110 breeding sows bringing 2,200 pigs through to finishing, with aspirations to increase herd size. We are currently looking for an assistant that can help with the day-to-day running of the pig unit. The jobs would include:

  • Farrowing routines 
  • Mucking out sheds
  • Weaning piglets
  • Vaccinations 
  • Serving 
  • Power washing 
  • General husbandry 
  • Tractor driving/Skid Steer

 

We are looking for a hard-working person who is willing to learn and develop their skills, has initiative, and is happy with lone working. Currently we are looking for someone on a part-time basis, however this may progress into full-time for the right candidate.
