We foster creative and innovative pedagogical practices among our teaching staff, ultimately seeking to improve student outcomes.
The Teaching and Learning Coach takes a leading role in supporting the continuous professional development of teaching staff, helping them to maximise their potential as outstanding professional educators. The Coach supports staff through one to one coaching and mentoring sessions, peer observation of teaching and learning, and team teaching as well as planning for and delivery of CPD sessions to groups of teachers. They may also be required to teach on initial teacher education courses.
Committed to our College values, the successful candidate will have a track record of supporting the pedagogical development of staff through coaching and mentoring. They will be flexible in their approach, working effectively with staff from a variety of backgrounds. They will have experience of a variety of different subject/vocational areas.
The ideal candidate will have at least a Level 5 qualification in education and training or equivalent, and a Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring or equivalent. They will illustrate a commitment to regular CPD, keeping abreast of the most current pedagogical research and strategies that positively impact student outcomes. They will be a clear communicator, professional, and a confident team player with a strong desire to drive forward educational standards. They will also be flexible with working hours, as some evening work will be required.
